2011 Wish List

Here are a few things that I am wishing for 2011:

1. World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain

My friends and I had been talking about this since the last half of 2010 ~ and now that we’re halfway to getting there, suddenly attending is not realizable anymore. What I would give to be able to travel to Spain with the Philippine delegates in August. I’ve already imagined myself taking pictures in the streets of Coria Carceres a few days before heading to Madrid for WYD proper; and then afterwards, a trip around Southern Europe with the girls. I’m still hoping to go though, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

2. Travel

I’ve always been interested in traveling, but it wasn’t until 2009 that my passion for traveling to other countries have truly unravelled. So far I’ve been to 3 major cities in China: Hong Kong, Macau, and Shanghai. This year I am hoping to conquer more of Southeast Asia.

I am really looking forward to my trip to Malaysia with a couple of friends from work/college. We’re spending a few days in Kota Kinabalu, and then Kuala Lumpur in mid-March! It will be my 3rd trip abroad if everything goes well!

I also really want to go to Bangkok, Thailand this year. Can’t wait to go shopping for very cheap finds! My friends and I are thinking about going around September.

Singapore is also in our list for December! I hope the cheap flights will keep on coming, because I am so ready to whip out my credit card and book me some flights outside the Flip Side. ^^

3. Lumix LX3 / TX5

Because I can’t stand carrying around a DSLR, I am hoping to buy an LX3 in 2011. Well, it’s cheaper (more realistic) than getting an LX5, so yeah. Included in this “wish” are the wide angle lens, case, and the view finder.

If not the LX3, I am vying for a Sony TX5. One word — WATERPROOF. ‘nuf said.

4. Apple MacBook Pro

Back in college, I remember saying I’ll save up for a MacBook first the moment I start earning. I’ve been employed for 17 months already, and my savings are nowhere near to getting me even half the price of a MacBook. This year, I hope to be able to save up even for 13″ MacBook.

5. Apple iTouch 4th Generation 32GB

One of the two major reasons I want an iTouch is the TapTap app. Yes. I’m addicted. okthxbye. The other reason is Angry Birds. I know right?!

6. An MBA Degree

I really want to go back to school. I’m hoping to get an MBA when the new school year starts. There’s nothing like old-fashioned education to keep me going. I wish I could apply for scholarships abroad on time. Cross fingers for me please!

7. US Visa

(Note: I can’t find a US Visa picture, so I’m using a US Passport photo instead.)

This year, I’m hoping to get at least halfway to the US by acquiring a US Visa. I’ll work on it this summer. I want to go there for leisure / education, actually.

8/9. A Bigger Closet and Wardrobe!

I keep wishing for this year after year after year. A closet similar to the picture above would be great! But an exact replica of Carrie Bradshaw’s new closet in SATC1 would be even better:

And if you throw in Christina Aguilera’s entire shoe collection, it would be EPIC.

10. More than material things…

I wish everyone will have a bigger and better 2011. 2010 had been rough, so I hope the new year would bring an abundance of blessings: happiness and good health to everyone, especially to the people I love. And oh, I wish I’ll finally lose weight this year!

My Night as a Groupie

I wasn’t planning on going out last night. However, the electricity went off around 4PM and I found out the rest of my family are going to Damosa for a Coca-Cola event. I got dressed in a whoosh and voila ~ plans have changed.

The Coke Christmas Concert featured Robi Domingo (who we only saw from afar), Andrei Felix, Itchyworms and Spongecola. I’ve been dying to see Yael for years now, and it was an opportunity to grab really. Thankfully, we talked Dad into bringing us backstage and hurray! for pictures galore!

SVIP Seats LOL

After we were brought backstage, the staff prepared seats for us right in front of the stage. Behind us are the people who’ve been there for hours, all standing up, all restrained by the security guards to go near the stage. To tell you the truth, it was really embarrassing so after a while, I got up and stayed at the tents to wait for the featured bands.

Andrei Felix

Just like a total fan girl, I had to go and take pictures with the “celebrities”. May I just say how much J’Adore Andrei’s skin is! My pores are gigantic compared to his!

With Jugs of Itchyworms

When Itchyworms started their set, I stayed with my sibs and their friends up front. But the crowd pushed hard to get near the stage, and it was getting so claustrophobic already. I decided to just watch the shows from inside the tent.

My photo bomb of the night. That’s Andrei sitting behind me. Later on, I found out he was just tweeting. LOL. Towards the end of Itchyworm’s number, my companions joined me in the tent. They were talking to Andrei when suddenly, this guy darts up from nowhere to do some sort of handshake. YAEL IS IN THE HOUSE Y’ALL!

Andrei + Yael

I was told that Yael was on the small side, but I didn’t realize he really isn’t Gandalf material. Kinda reminds me of John Pratts, really. LOL. He’s so charismatic in person! And very friendly and approachable too! His energy on stage is really something!

After they wrapped up the concert, Nikki and my sibs were invited by Itchyworms’ Chino to go to their hotel. My sister and I tagged along, ending up in Dimsum Diner at 2AM. We left soon after we got there ~ but it was a fun but awkward experience, I should say. I found out I’m not really groupie material. Haha. But getting the SVIP treatment… now, that one is for me! *evil grin* HAHA

I swear! I have the cutest cousins in the world!

Case in point: this note Claire left for her mom.

AWWWW. Isn’t she adorable?! She’s around 6 or 7 and she obviously doesn’t like after care! And she’s definitely OC, up to the last detail! Everybody just cracked up after my aunt posted this on her Facebook!

I just love how children can express their selves in whichever way they want to without feeling conscious of anything at all. And without anybody judging them about it.

if i’ll be any more nervous than I am right now, i’ll probaby start writhing on the floor. OMG i feel like i am gonna hyper ventilate any time! And the fact that ‘it’s’ late is making me somersault deep inside! Can you spell nakakaloka???

now i know why they call it ‘butterflies on my stomach’ ughh. Myyyyy geeeeed. This is crazy! i wish i was somewhere isolated, you know? Huhu

the first time i went through something this serious is more than a year ago already!. It felt just like how it felt back then, but only worse!… I’m not as confident this time around! And the first time I specifically did anything near this was more than 2 years ago na! My ged lang! Pwedeng malurkey???

I can’t even drink the larcepuccino i ordered because i don’t think my stomach can take it, saying as they are full of butterflies nga di ba? huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu

A lot has been going in my life this month. I don’t blog about them very much though. All of a sudden, I felt like blogging about them here will just be too, I don’t know, invasive.

I’ve been feeling miserable lately. I may have smiled a lot in the past few weeks, but deep inside, I’m a big depressed shit. Thank you to my friends for their presence and support.

Enough of this emo crap though. Allow me to share some of the highlights of my September:

We “celebrated” Telaw’s birthday a day late, although we had dinner and coffee on September 17.

Random Friday night out with the girls from work.

My grandma and my aunt Glenda left for the US mid-month. We found out my great aunt had cancer so my grandma had to push her trip a month early!

The Barbie x Local Fashion Designer exhibit at SM. The clothes were sooo adorable. Buti pa ang Barbie, nabibihisan ng mga magagarang damit… sana ako din! LOL

I went out on a random lunch date with my college best friends, Karla and Leonard.

Omay turned 22! She had their finals on her birthday, but we went to her school and surprised her with balloons and cake to celebrate! We ended up having dinner at Yellow Fin with her family…

…and to Kapalong for an extended celebration!

When I got back from Kapalong, I found out my whole family stayed in Apo View Hotel for the rest of the weekend. Dad was in town for a business trip.

Lady was in town! We had coffee when we got back from Kapalong!

The days are obnoxiously HOT considering it’s September already. But clear blue skies are LOVE.

Despite all the bad feelings I’ve been having, I’m still very happy that I am surrounded with the most amazing people in the world. But well, I’m looking forward to a new month very much. Hello, October! I can’t wait to start next month’s adventure outside the city!

Bluer Than Blue

There’s something about blue skies that inspires me. I guess you could say that it’s one of my favorite subjects to “shoot” or whatever you call it.

Kanegosyo at NCCC Mall

Today was the first day of NCCC Mall’s largest trade event: KANEGOSYO. While I’m not really a part of it since it was a supermarket activity, I still went there because my boss and the rest of my team are there.

When my boss told me to go around the booths with him, we found the photo booth people ready to click click click! Gre (from the sales team) and I grabbed the opportunity to cam whore! Haha. Of course, it was free for us Unilever people ~ but for the participants of Kanegosyo, they have to purchase at least Php400 worth of Unilever products to avail of the photo booth activity! Kanegosyo will still be up to Saturday, so I’m prepping myself for a solo photo tomorrow! Haha.
