Temptation

Last week, after watching a movie, my friend Ann and I decided to window shop for shoes. We found these patent peep toe pumps from People are People. Aren’t they gorge?!

I want to go back for them but I just bought a 2000php worth of heels that will be arriving in April pa plus I was planning on getting another Converse sneakers. HURHUR.

So I guess I’ll just have to be contented with taking my photos with them, non? But what do you think? Should I get them? They instantly pump up an otherwise boring ensemble. So yeah. WAAA. TEMPTED.

At Least I Tried

I tried sorting out my closet earlier but I’m not sure if I succeeded!

This is the “AFTER” shot already – still absolutely dreadful, noh? I forgot to take a photo of the “before” appearance. But given this, I think you already have an idea how bad it looked before I tried fixing it. HAHA

I seriously need a bigger closet. And a new bag rack or something. And shoe rack. And a bigger closet! And oh, did I say a bigger closet?!

DSC02720-1

Some of my shirts (well, they’re actually a mix of mine and my twin brothers hehe) are already in a plastic container across my room. ZOMG.

While I have a lot of t-shirts, I really need more bottoms and more shoes! And dresses! Good luck!

On another note, can you please help me decide if I should buy this summer dress from Kamiseta? It’s on sale and I really like it and I can really see myself wearing it when I go to Bohol in May! :) So, given my rampant spending… should I still get this? And oh, if I do, where do I put it?! Under my bed or something?! PFFT

Shopaholic Strikes Again

January 31st, 2010 § Leave a Comment

I know I know I know. I NEED TO SAVE. I tell myself that a bajillion times a day already, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be able to appreciate (lust over and dream about) beauties like these patent peep toe pumps:

I’ve been thinking about getting black peep-toes for a while now, but with S/S 2010 looming over me, I’m forced to re-evaluate my options so I could keep up with the flirty and summery look. (and it’s not as if I can afford to buy at the moment so I’m shopping in my mind)

I already have overused pink patent flats so I’m thinking about either yellow or turquoise for some really eye-catching colors. (Read: turquoise is the official color of S/S 2010) The white is also really pretty and the red really bold – but I don’t think they’re for me.

These babies are on hand so if I could scrimp on my self-imposed allowance in the next few weeks, I think I have enough for these, yes? NO. I’m buying high-cut black Chuck Taylor’s (as inspired by Jack and Jil’s feature on Maya Villiger) so I have to SAVE SAVE SAVE.

And while we are in the subject of Maya Villiger, don’t you just love her shoes? I already have a pair of oxford booties, and some short boots (though in red, not black), so I’m looking out for (a) Black High Cut Chuck Taylors (b) Lace up wedge booties (I’m thinking about Forever21!) and (c) Classic black pumps (I might go with platform pumps if I can afford them already).

I’m such a sucker for timeless pieces. But I noticed I have too many dark colors in my wardrobe already that’s why I’m keeping my eye open on candy colored beauties such as these peep toe pumps. I’ll get the pumps next time hopefully. :’(

okthxbye :)

I Love Oxford Shoes!

January 26th, 2010 § Leave a Comment

I’ve been wanting to buy a pair of flat oxford shoes since the F/W 2009 season but I couldn’t find them anywhere.  I have the black oxford booties already though. And now I have found affordable flats, but damn it, I have to restrain myself and stick to my budget! This is just sheer AGONY. TORTURE!

These are from Steve Madden. If I buy it online, they’re Php3,680 each.

TUXXEDO-BLACK-WHITE-zoom  TUXXEDO-COGNAC-LE-zoom

I love the black and white version because it’s really classic and trendy (ironic, right?) while I also heart the cognac pair because it’s very versatile! But they’re way too expensive for me right now.

I found a cheaper version, something from Qupid, for only Php1,550-Php1,680 depending on where I would purchase.

Except for the shoe laces, they look almost the same right? This would be perfect for cigarette pants/slacks for business casual looks, and shorts for a cross between casual and dressy ensembles, yes? Too bad they don’t have the cheap version in brown.

I’m really torn right now. I have to decide before Feb 1 (that’s the cut off dates for preordering) so that it’ll arrive in time for the Shanghai trip. So, a little help here? Should I buy or not?

Lace Pumps

I saw something similar to these Christian Louboutin Bouquet Platform Pumps in ze interwebs and ze SM Department Store lately. I was wondering if I should buy.

Just a background… this is Bergdorf Goodman’s product description of these Louboutin’s: Black floral lace over light pink satin. Peep-toe. Covered platform. 4 3/4" covered heel. Signature red sole. Made in Italy. And just so we’re clear, they cost a whopping $1,025.00 (roughly Php47,150). So as far as dreams go, this one is “up there”, you know?

There are a lot of other Louboutin lace shoes out there, just google them and you’ll see.

So anyway, as for the cheaper versions:

Pair 1: I saw these pair of Tuxedo-inspired peep-toe lace pumps in GoJane. For local retailers in multiply, they sell these at Php1,880.

Pair 2: Last night, one of my frequented online stores posted this and sells them at Php1,000. I’m slowly running out of cash and I really want to buy these! What’s more, they only have a piece of the size 10, and I saw someone already inquiring for it. HOMG.

Pair 3: Oops. No photo for the 3rd pair. I saw it at SM Department Store while I was there this afternoon. It’s on sale at Php450 only! They look like the 2nd pair, but only peep-toe. And I believe it has shorter heels. I’m thinking of going back there tomorrow after work to mull things out, and decide whether I should buy them or not. HOMG HOMG HOMG.

I’m already thinking of outfits that I could pair this with. But hmmm… there’s nothing in my closet really. These are really dressy and it would be OVERKILL to pair them with the new black sheer dress I bought earlier. WAAA.

STOP ME. SAVE SAVE SAVE.

The Must Have

Although I’m supposed to be saving up, I couldn’t resist buying the Boyfriend Jacket I saw at Maldita yesterday!

I did a draft for Top 10 Fashion Must Haves for Spring/Summer 2010 and this one is definitely at the top of my list! Although after getting home, I realized I should have bought something with a little less shock with the accents because my closet is oozing of hot pink stuff. To think it’s not even my favorite color. I’m thinking of having it exchanged for the gray one with striped cuffs though. Or maybe I’ll just buy it, yes? GAH. THIS IS WHAT I HATE ABOUT IMPULSE PURCHASES!

But seriously. I love it. It’s an XL and a little tight around my arms so I am going to start working out, yes? I’m just so happy I bought this even though this will make a big dent in my savings plan for the next few months (DARN YOU UNSPONSORED SHANGHAI TRIP! LOL). But chill. No regrets. I will just have to make do of everything that comes my way.

Next on my list: SHOES! Though I can’t decide if I should get platform heels, shearling boots (ala Uggs), or black high cut Chuck Taylors. I think I’ll get the latter one though. It’s more practical and versatile. But on second thought, the shearling boots would be nice to wear in Shanghai. WAA. I really have to stop spending now! HELP!

For the love of wedges

shoes

Ever since I can remember, I have always been the “basic” kind of dresser. I love solid colors, and I also love bold patterns! But unfortunately, I wasn’t blessed with the gift of mixing-and-matching colors and textures, as well as layering. My body build (very large frame) also doesn’t help my case, especially with the layering. So I have learned to content myself with simple dressing i.e. black shoes, white top, blue jeans, LBD, etc.

These Black Platform Wedges is simple yet fabulous. Being the flats-kinda-girl that I am, I actually had a hard time walking in these shoes. But they do look great on me, so I’m not complaining. I remember seeing a movie with a line that goes like this: “If my feet hurts, it means my shoes look good” or something to that effect. And so I have learned to accept that BEAUTY definitely HAS A PRICE! LOL

The truth is, I bought these shoes on a impulse. I was only supposed to buy this pair of white heels that I saw in So! Fab in GMall, but before heading home, my brother Karl and I took a detour to Chimes to check out the new stocks. As expected from the shopaholic that I am, I went out of the store with 2 new purchases! GASP!

shoes2

When I saw these espadrille wedges, I instantly felt love at first sight – which, honestly, made me super broke. I had to buy them, but I’ve already bought two shoes already but WTH right? LOL

At first, I wasn’t really into heels and wedges and all. They’re so pretty to look at especially when I see other people wearing them in the malls, but I wasn’t too comfortable in them. BUT when my friend’s mom told me that I already look like a tubol (can anyone please translate this in English?), I knew I had to invest in some high shoes. Thus, the wedges and heels overload!

I first wore the shoes during my birthday dinner with Eleat. I wore them with the vintage dress I found at a bazaar.

I love this pair better than the Black Platform Wedges because they’re super comfortable. And the open-toe design of this one is too pretty. :)

Dressing Up

November 24th, 2009 § Leave a Comment

It had been a cold weekend and since I have new boots, I decided they were perfect for the weather as they cover up majority of my (literally) cold feet. But my gosh! My wardrobe is pretty limited so I had a hard time dressing around my booties.

I first wore them on Friday. I wasn’t able to take a photo of me then but I wore a Black Polo Shirt over my Gray Skinny Jeans. To accessorize, I wore colorful dangling earrings, and then brought 2 bags (1 blue bag for my stuff, and 1 black one for my laptop). They were teasing me at the office when I arrived running in heels (I was running because it was raining and I didn’t want to bother with my umbrella after getting off the cab).

The next day, I wore the boots again this time in an all black ensemble. While I was just mostly seated on Friday (so my feet didn’t hurt that much), I was all over the place on Saturday, and I didn’t get home until almost 3 in the morning. Oh my poor poor SOLES!

So what I wore: Black Maldita Oversized Tunic, Black Leggings, Guru Oxford Booties, and Blue Bag from Melons and Lemons.

Dressing room madness: I went window shopping after work on Saturday since I was waiting for some college friends for our New Moon movie date that evening. Cam Whore much?

Peektyoor.1413 Peektyoor.1406 Peektyoor.1408

So what did you think of my outfit? I know it’s not really clear and all since I only used my 2MP camera phone, but you get the picture right? Should I go on dressing like this or should I just ditch the concept entirely? And oh, what did you think of the booties when worn? :)

Last Night

Warning: This post may contain a lot of giggly girl stuffs that may make you gag. I do not promise to make sense.

NEW MOON

Last night, I went out to watch New Moon with a few of my friends from college (Louie, Nikki, Dan, Joel, and Piyoks). All I can say is: Team Jacob’s Abs all the way! LOL. I’m not really a big fan (though I still couldn’t stop getting kilig over the book – not the movie, eeew at RPatz) though I’ve read the series at least twice. I know, I know, blame the hopeless romantic in me. I mean, if you disregard the literary quality (or lack thereof) and the ugly personality of the book’s characters (Bella’s Obsessive Cullen Disorder, etc), the plot is actually quite nice and romantic and would definitely appeal to the fresh and idealistic nature of teeners and teeners-ish everywhere. I guess Stephenie Mayer really did appeal to the little girl within us. Who didn’t want a man who’s head-over-heels in love with us right? And with super powers to boot! Though I don’t really get how everyone’s dream man (Edward) is a dead man! In the book, I’m team Edward – but moviewise, JACOB IS ONE HOT DOG! I’d pick his 8-pack abs any day over Edward’s glitters! HAHA. Ok, I’ve been digressing long enough. Actually, the point of this paragraph is supposed to be how better the movie is compared to the book. I swear I almost gave up on the Saga when I read New Moon back in October last year! Talk about B-O-R-I-N-G!!! Bella was just waaaay stupid in the book – not that she isn’t in the movie. And speaking of Bella, I never liked Kristen Stewart’s acting in Twilight. Always, she’d look high on me. However I noticed in New Moon that if she isn’t in a scene with RPatz a.k.a. The Vampire Who Glitters, she acts decently. But when Edward comes into the picture, she reverts back to acting like the coke-junkie that she is. But seriously, I honestly believe that the point in watching New Moon is to see and drool over Taylor Lautner’s abs! And I must say he (or his abs, if you may) definitely did not disappoint! YUMMY! ‘nuff said.

AND THE OTHER STUFFS

After the movie, we decided to hang out for a while before heading home. We met with a former classmate, May, and she brought with her her boyfriend, Amir and the boyfriend’s cousin, Paulo. I can’t believe she tried to set me up with the “kekz from the States” HAHA. Can’t she tell I’m all talk and no action?! I’ve never been one for the dating scene, I swear I wouldn’t know the first thing to do! It was so funny coz the rest of our friends are super teasing me about it and my ears were hot half of the night! I tried to use my super (talking) powers on him though but errr I realize that I have a problem with guys who try to act cool just because they are in a less developed country. BITTER. LOL. Around 1am, we moved the party to Torres and the boys left (me) to play NBA while we were busy shaking our booties on the dance floor. And shake we did! – especially the cousin. He tried dancing with me and oh my! I was scandalized! HAHA. I swear I am such a baby! HAHAHAHA. And speaking of babies, he is still that himself so thanks but no thanks. He tried dancing with the other girls, a couple of which I know from school, and I LOLed at everyone’s reaction. WEERRQQ! The boys had a curfew though and they had to leave before us. The other boys were still busy playing NBA so after getting my coffee fix for the night (I brought the car so I had to stay awake), May and I rode the tricycle in the middle of a super cold night sans jacket and holding icy drinks. The A/C was definitely in full blast last night – we were practically shivering from cold when we got to Dan’s house (where the boys were). I’m sorry to their helper coz we were making such a racket outside since the boys couldn’t hear us from Dan’s room. Imagine that! Four grown men playing with balls inside Dan’s room, hmmm I believe that would make a pretty interesting SPO story had the whole college gang been around! Dan dropped us off back to Pelayo around 2:30am so we could go to our respective cars and go home. I swear my mom was making such a racket over the phone and telling me my curfew is at 12am, I mean what am I? In college still? I guess that’s one of the reasons why I want to get my own place. I digress.

THE FINALE

So yesterday I went to work in my new booties. Half of my work involves going to the mall and that’s exactly what I did – to the suffering of my poor poor soles. I was on my feet most of the day, and I couldn’t say I was comfortable. By the time I was waiting for my friends to watch GMall’s Last Full Showing of New Moon, I could honestly cry my eyes out from the pain. But as the saying goes: “Beauty has a price.” And indeed it does! You see, I wanted to channel the fall look they usually have in 4-seasoned countries since we had such a lovely cold weather yesterday. I paired my booties with black leggings and black oversized button-down tunic. I just need a trench coat and some scarf and I’m sure I was going to be too dressed up for a tropical country, even during monsoon season (or whatever climate we’re having). But since I’ve been too comfortable wearing flats ALL THE TIME since I started working, I paid a really high price for looking like I had yesterday (sales lady much?), and unfortunately, 20 hours after (now!) I’m still paying for it! But who cares, right? I saw this lady in SM yesterday – we had the same idea about our outfits, tunic top, legging and heels – and I felt envious of her open toed snakeskin with chunky heels and platforms! I swear I am going to buy more high heeled shoes (and wedges!) when I get my next salary – and after I do the rest of my Christmas Shopping! So yeah, achy feet be damned! NO PAIN, NO GAIN RIGHT?
