September
September 28th, 2010 § 1 Comment
A lot has been going in my life this month. I don’t blog about them very much though. All of a sudden, I felt like blogging about them here will just be too, I don’t know, invasive.
I’ve been feeling miserable lately. I may have smiled a lot in the past few weeks, but deep inside, I’m a big depressed shit. Thank you to my friends for their presence and support.
Enough of this emo crap though. Allow me to share some of the highlights of my September:
We “celebrated” Telaw’s birthday a day late, although we had dinner and coffee on September 17.
Random Friday night out with the girls from work.
My grandma and my aunt Glenda left for the US mid-month. We found out my great aunt had cancer so my grandma had to push her trip a month early!
The Barbie x Local Fashion Designer exhibit at SM. The clothes were sooo adorable. Buti pa ang Barbie, nabibihisan ng mga magagarang damit… sana ako din! LOL
I went out on a random lunch date with my college best friends, Karla and Leonard.
Omay turned 22! She had their finals on her birthday, but we went to her school and surprised her with balloons and cake to celebrate! We ended up having dinner at Yellow Fin with her family…
…and to Kapalong for an extended celebration!
When I got back from Kapalong, I found out my whole family stayed in Apo View Hotel for the rest of the weekend. Dad was in town for a business trip.
Lady was in town! We had coffee when we got back from Kapalong!
The days are obnoxiously HOT considering it’s September already. But clear blue skies are LOVE.
Despite all the bad feelings I’ve been having, I’m still very happy that I am surrounded with the most amazing people in the world. But well, I’m looking forward to a new month very much. Hello, October! I can’t wait to start next month’s adventure outside the city!
okthxbye
James’ Birthday + 3 Jogues ‘04 Reunion
July 10th, 2010 § 2 Comments

After being absent in the blogging scene for a while, I’m so glad that my next post is gonna be about one SUPER HAPPY EVENT!
I was ecstatic when I received the Facebook invitation for James’ 22nd birthday party! TURNING 22 REALLY NEVER SOUNDED THIS CRAZY LIKE HELL!
Aside from it being James’ birthday party, we also decided to turn it into our own little class reunion!

OMG 3 JOGUES BATCH 2004 WE GUYS ARE SO AWESOME AND CRAZY COOL LIKE THAT! HAHAHA.
Lady’s Thanksgiving Party
February 17th, 2010 § Leave a Comment
I finally bought a card reader this afternoon! YAY. So here it goes, photo-flood from the party celebrating Lady’s success in passing the November 2009 Nursing Licensure Exam.
Fresh from Davao. I’m obviously travel weary (that’s just how I phrase please-forgive-my-super-ugly-face), while Lady is so dolled up! She was even wearing a dress!
The Fontilla’s/Flauta’s are so social! They have a big bean-shaped pool! That’s Frank and RB in our table at the far side of the pool.
The First Family: Audrey, Tita Bing, Tito Joselito & JB
Later that night, RB will drop dead (figuratively) because of what Lady is holding.
The bubwitz and the men of Eleat with our new friend, Tim (Fatima), Lady’s friend from Siliman.
The Dancing Family! We helped move the tables to create a dance floor!
Bonding moments with the Fontilla bubwitz.
ELEAT bonding moment in Midsayap. BLACK is the color of the night!
I made a fool of myself by going up front to sing 3 songs with Frank and Lady. After those performances, I am not sure if I still have the guts to go back there! LOL
Pushing Lady and RB (fully dressed!) in the pool started all the fun! We went in at 11pm, and went out at around 2am already! And it’s only because we couldn’t stand the chill anymore! And RB already passed out (and gotten sick) in one of the tables.
We were still boozing in the pool. Lady’s dad and his friends were boozing in the tables, and they were so funny because they kept on warning us not to go to the deep side of the pool. At first we thought they were worried that we getting drunk but after a few warnings, we realized it was them who were sooo drunk! So funny!
This is RB – after we encouraged him to changes after he got sick in one of the tables outside. He slept as soon as I got him inside our room. He was too drunk!
Before lights off, Lady was seen pulling hair off Frank’s chin. Now that’s friendship! HAHA.
And to end this post, I present to you the very essence of Eleat friendship: FOOD. It wouldn’t be an Eleat outing without hoards of food!
This is what our table looked like after the second round. There were more rounds after – and we even brought the tempuras and sushi with us at the pool! And just an idea how much food were served:
Hit of the night was Tita Bing’s Tuna Fettuccini, and the lechon! And the tempura! And everything! The Flauta/Fontilla family could start a catering business and I’m 200000000% sure it would be a hit!
okthxbye
BFF’s

Last week, one of my BFF’s from high school, Kuya Andre, was in town for the sem break. In another one of those impromptu gatherings, I found myself having dinner in Karlyn’s with Kuya Andre and Mikhai.

Kuya Andre is currently a Senior in the country’s Naval version of Military School. He doesn’t go home often so we make it a point to see him when he’s here. We live just a few blocks away from each other, but it’s not always easy to see each other often. Mikhai, on the other hand, is one of Kuya Andre’s past loves. LOL. The three of us were classmates in Junior High, and have remained good friends since.

Kuya Andre is one of those annoyingly shy people. Can you spell DEPENDENT? HAHA. He’ll probably kill me for posting this but he is not interested in blogs, social networking, etc so he probably wouldn’t know about this unless you tell!
During the dinner, Pepe brought her DSLR. Kuya Andre had so much fun play acting as photographer for the night. It suits him because he’d rather not be in front of the camera most of the time, I think.
I tried taking photos of him while he was “playing”, but he just wouldn’t do it, that biatch! HAHA.

For the record, I could get away with teasing Kuya Andre because I practically almost lived in their house during Junior High. He wasn’t as EMO then. LOL

And as for Mikhai. We’re sisters at heart. This year alone, we’ve done so many things together! (e.g. Cebu, Job Hunt, etc) HAHA. I would never forget CEBU, Peps!
Aside from dinner at Karlyn’s the three of us also went around town doing nothing. We talked about some pretty old topic that still seem to haunt Kuya Andre, and went to this new mall to check out the China-made stuffs, and then we went to Legaspi Compound to use the restroom and take photos. LOL.

After we dropped off Mikhai at GMall (she was going to meet her boytoy), Kuya Andre and I spent a good deal of the night hanging out and catching up. I went home at around 10:30pm already. Can’t wait til December for another get together with the two of them present!
P.S.
Have you noticed that I was the star of the night because of my shocking pink color? FTW!

Saturday Night
October 11th, 2009 § 4 Comments
It had been a while since the last time I went out on a random Saturday night with my friends. (The baby shower two weeks ago didn’t count because it was planned a few days ahead of time.)
I love payday weekends. I overindulged myself by buying Skin Food’s BB Cream. I’ve been intending to buy the gorgeous tinted moisturizer since forever but I was always hesitant because it was too expensive. But I decided to give myself some slack and bought it earlier tonight at Php1,250 for a 50g pack.
Afterwards, I also indulged in MORE accessories from my former college org mate, Alyssa. I bought 3 sets of necklaces and a pair of popsicle earrings. The 2 necklaces went to Weh and Louie (for Nikki).
I picked up Weh from work on the way to dinner. We decided to meet up at Gaisano Mall, and we ended up having dinner there. FINALLY, my craving for Japanese Food was slightly satisfied. I had Kani Salad earlier and a Pork rice meal.
Afterwards, we went to Basti’s Brew in Victoria Plaza for some desserts and to meet up with our other friends, Piyoks, Andrew, Zhaun, etc, who had a gig there tonight. Walnut Avenue performed for the 10th Anniversary of Basti’s. It was super fun since they gave out a lot of prices, and as usual, the food was goooooood! Especially the giant chocolate cake, and they’re uber delicious Cinaboo!
We were reluctant to go home directly after the gig, so a few of us decided to visit this Syrian coffee shop in Rizal. I forgot the name but the place was nice! It was a bit awkward, but the food more than made up for it. Delicious coffee and unbelievably looooow prices! Will definitely go back there soon!
Afterwards, I played the role of designated driver. I brought everyone home, almost to their doorsteps. HAHA. It was such a great night. Not you’re usual yuppie scene, but it was still some super fun bonding with super friends!
Reminiscing

I was rummaging through gazillion of my CD’s looking for old school files that Charlene needs. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find the Powerpoint Presentations she wanted but I found this instead:
It’s a video of our 1st major project for Advertising class. We made a music video for our Prelim exam and we decided on Rivermaya’s Ulan because it had really nice lyrics.
We shot this video for almost a week, not because it is so elaborate and amazing, but because we were all very busy having more fun than working – so we procrastinated much.
The truth is, we never really knew what the final output would look like as we just put a rough story together and just handed everything over for the editor to worry about.
What I really love about this MV is the fact that the editor used cuts that were originally meant as bloopers. It reflects candid moments in our friendship. Yes, what you see in the video is what we really are. I guess you could call it a 6-minute preview of how me and my friends are in real life.
Aww. I miss school and my former carefree and useful self.
Unplanned

Impromptu gatherings are just the best. No one has enough time to say “no” and so since everyone’s out already, all goes with the flow.
This afternoon, a few of us batch mates from the Ateneo Marketing Class of 2009 had a mini-reunion at the lobby of Unilever Philippines. I was there to discuss my terms of employment while the rest of my peers were scheduled for a job interview.
I kinda got my camera out a little late already. If it hadn’t been for Don Marko, I would’ve completely forgotten that I brought it!
Being the gregarious people that we are, the office was of course turned into a mini party place what with all the noise and endless laughter. There was actually another guy waiting to be interviewed but we didn’t get to catch him on camera. Too bad since Ysa fancied him. I could just imagine the horror the guy felt when he encountered our crowd – he must have felt left out from all the noise we were making.
In the midst of the job interviews/chaos, Janine and I pulled a prank on Leonard. I saw his wallet lying around in the sofa and decided to hide it in my bag. It took Leonard a good 20 minutes to find it in the outer pocket of my ginormous bag – well 20 minutes and a lot of moving around, and asking other people to move and stuff. It feels like we’re back in college and stuff as I always used to pull prank on Leonard by keeping his stuffs.
The interviews took a looong time. Each of them (in order of appearance Janine, Leonard, Marko, Ysa, Kim, Vince, Apollo – and Mon. LOL) took at least 30 minutes for interviews. I finished at around 5pm, but I had to wait for about 2 hours for all of them to be done.
After the interviews, everyone was hungry and so we decided to have dinner at Lachi’s. Don Marko, Ysa and Dorina already made plans the night before but we all decided to join forces while we were at the office. We picked up Louie from his ED, and then met up with the D’s at Lachi’s already. It was fun fun fun! We almost didn’t get enough seats in Lachi’s but we made it, and had a nice dinner and funny conversations.
After dinners, we went our separate ways. Dorina, Ysa, Dweyne and Soy, I think, went to Torres to meet up with their other friends, while Louie, Leonard, Janine and I went to Kasagingan so that Louie could use the WiFi there for his job.
We all left past 10pm already. My gosh. It was a long day but it was sooo worth it to be with my college friends!
Here’s a clip from dinner time at Lachi’s. Enjoy!
The Law of Attraction
July 13th, 2009 § Leave a Comment
For the nth time, the law of attraction has worked for me. I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or bad thing at this point though because I am honestly still conflicted!
Anyway, I met up this afternoon with my closest guy friends in college, Leonard, and Louie and his very own super woman, Nikki.
I came from an unexpected appointment that afternoon and decided to meet with the guys afterwards. I had to get over a broken shoe, and an hour of waiting for the guys at KFC.
Look what Leonard brought me & Louie from Hawaii? CHOCOLAT! <3 He also gave Louie and I key chains! Much as I love the pasalubongs, it would’ve been better if he gave us plane tickets to Hawaii and back.
So earlier, Leonard and I were exchanging text messages, and I was telling him that Louie and Nikki will be going to the Hall of Justice before meeting us at SM. I told him they’ve eloped and that they were getting married there. He wanted to believe it at first but he caught up with my joke after a while. LOL. Anyway, don’t they (Louie and Nikki) look so good together???
I ate a lot today, by the way. Since I had to sit at KFC, I had to order something. It was the first time that I had the Mini Bucket of Fries. Louie and Leonard helped me finish it but it was mostly I who consumed the delicious fries. Before going home, we dropped by Churros City and got ourselves some delicious Churros.
It was an unexpectedly fun day! I unexpectedly went out of the house to attend some matters regarding my future, and then unexpectedly went out with Team SPO for some bonding time! Hopefully, Leonard can join Louie and I soon. It would be great to spend more time with the guys!
Night Out
July 13th, 2009 § Leave a Comment
I just got back from a super late night out with the guys. They picked me up at around 10:30 and I just got back 30 minutes ago.
No drinking at Carlo’s living room or Tudz’ Bahay Kubo tonight. Instead, we hit the beach and downed a case of San Miguel Pale Pilsen (my first!) at the back of Carlo’s pick up truck.
It was kinda exciting since the city’s on red alert these days, and there had been a lot of happenings in the village. While we were sitting there, drinking and talking, we saw the patrol cars from 911 and the local tanods surveying the area. We were a little bit worried about being scolded at especially because we have something we should have that night – not drugs of course! But thankfully, the tanod was someone that Tudz’ knew. Err, not to mention Tudz is the son of the village association’s president.
So tonight, I hanged out with Ann, Carlo, Tudz, Arby (err. i dunno the spelling), and Kuya Kulas (the tanod). While observing the brady bunch that we are earlier, I noticed that there’s something brewing between Arby and Ann. What do you think???
Well anyway, they’re just friends. And Arby was drunk as hell since the guys have been drinking since 3pm this afternoon.
During our conversations earlier, it struck me that I think I may have the least problems among my peers. They talk about family problems, and problems with their love and social lives, and all that jazz. I realize I had nothing to share but my problems about being jobless – which isn’t really very pressing actually. I hold no grudges against any groups that I go out with socially, and my family is fine. I’m not sure if it’s normal but I’m so thankful for my blessings. I digress.
After dropping Ann off at her place, the guys and I went out of the village to grab a bite at Minute Burger in Puan. It was the first time that I’ve tried it there.
They sell these double-pattied burgers, buy 1 take 1, for only 34 pesos. It was really cheap and the burger was not bad at all. Although now that I’ve eaten both, I can’t tell how people can stand it after so many bites – I’m so fully right now that I think I’m going to get sick. I digress again.
So anyway, my men in the green pick up truck dropped me off at home, and waited for me to get inside before going home themselves. We made plans earlier for Saturday because it’s Arby’s birthday on Wednesday. Full drinking mode activate. Haha.
