September

September 28th, 2010 § 1 Comment

A lot has been going in my life this month. I don’t blog about them very much though. All of a sudden, I felt like blogging about them here will just be too, I don’t know, invasive.

I’ve been feeling miserable lately. I may have smiled a lot in the past few weeks, but deep inside, I’m a big depressed shit. Thank you to my friends for their presence and support. :)

Enough of this emo crap though. Allow me to share some of the highlights of my September:

DSC05822

We “celebrated” Telaw’s birthday a day late, although we had dinner and coffee on September 17.

DSC05263

Random Friday night out with the girls from work.

 DSC05281 DSC05280

My grandma and my aunt Glenda left for the US mid-month. We found out my great aunt had cancer so my grandma had to push her trip a month early!

DSC05316

The Barbie x Local Fashion Designer exhibit at SM. The clothes were sooo adorable. Buti pa ang Barbie, nabibihisan ng mga magagarang damit… sana ako din! LOL

DSC05303

I went out on a random lunch date with my college best friends, Karla and Leonard.

DSC05428

Omay turned 22! She had their finals on her birthday, but we went to her school and surprised her with balloons and cake to celebrate! We ended up having dinner at Yellow Fin with her family…

DSC05546 DSC05475

…and to Kapalong for an extended celebration!

DSC05616

When I got back from Kapalong, I found out my whole family stayed in Apo View Hotel for the rest of the weekend. Dad was in town for a business trip.

DSC05607

Lady was in town! We had coffee when we got back from Kapalong!

DSC05625

The days are obnoxiously HOT considering it’s September already. But clear blue skies are LOVE.

Despite all the bad feelings I’ve been having, I’m still very happy that I am surrounded with the most amazing people in the world. But well, I’m looking forward to a new month very much. Hello, October! I can’t wait to start next month’s adventure outside the city!

okthxbye

Destination: BOHOL (Day 1)

August 1st, 2010 § Leave a Comment

I’ll be doing this blog in a slightly different format as the Cebu one, so yeah. Just saying. :)

It was too soon to leave Cebu, but we had to because we were going to beautiful Bohol! After cramming in a few minutes to visit the Sto. Nino Church, we rushed to the pier and said our hasty goodbyes to my dad who was awesome enough to drive us around very late the night before, and very early that day! (Love you, Daddy!)

DSC01143 Lady, RB and I with the Bohol first timers: Frank and Chic. Bryan took the photo.

DSC01146 DSC01145

Check out Ocean Jet’s Libreng Balik promos. Super sulit. Though I’m not sure if we really were able to get them. Haha. :)

Thank you, Coke

When we got to Bohol, the Territory Sales Manager for Coca-Cola greeted us at the pier. Daddy was the one to arrange transportation for us in Bohol. We just had to get ourselves on the island. Absolutely hassle free!

DSC01151 DSC01150

The 6 of us would also like to thank Coke for providing us with Viva Natural Spring Water that should’ve lasted us for more than a day, but Frank and Chic devoured in a few hours.

DSC01152

Pinoy Hospitality at its Finest

So yes. First stop in Bohol. Can you guess where? Clue? Bohol is very famous for this especially during May. Guessed it already??.. Oh what the heck. I’ll just say it. Haha. FIESTA!!!!!!!! Yes! Everyone should experience Bohol’s very famous fiesta season at least many times over!

DSC01155 DSC01157

There really is nothing like a barrio fiesta! We were planning to have lunch at one of Loboc River’s floating restaurants, but the TSM Teddy Montejo was adamant that we go to one of their MEP’s for lunch. We seriously had no idea whose house party we were crashing – but that’s the beauty of fiestas, everyone, even complete strangers, are welcome in ones home. Pinoy Hospitality at its finest!

DSC01158 DSC01153

And OMG. ONE SHOULD NOT MISS EATING “HUMBA” FROM A BOHOLANO HOUSEHOLD. SUPER SARAP! And their tortas are also really good! NOM NOM NOM. Unfortunately we had to eat and run, because we were scheduled to do the usual touristy trap in Bohol for the benefit of the first timers. Personally, I’d rather have stayed at the beach, but it wouldn’t be fun without the crazies in my life.

Tourist Trap

It was a very sunny day when our boat docked at the pier of Tagbilaran. But towards the foot of the hill going up to the Chocolate Hills center, it suddenly rained cats and dogs!

 DSC02064 DSC02066

At first thought, it was such a bummer because we had to climb 200+ steps up the peak to have a great view of the stunning chocolate hills that is all sorts of awesome in that part of Bohol. IDK where I got my information, but I was told that said chocolate hills are abundant with limestones, remnants from the days when Bohol was still submerged underwater. Or so they say.

Thank goodness the rain stopped while we were halfway up!

DSC02069 DSC01186

Our next stop was the man-made forest we passed by going to and from Chocolate hills! The place looked so nice! And it was so cool! We need more of them trees in this planet!

DSC01195 DSC02090

So yes. The hotness Lady is crazy.

During my previous visit to Bohol back in Summer ‘09, the Coke people brought us to the hanging bridge in Carmen. And so, I’ve also suggested that we go there. It was everyone’s first time there but mine.

DSC01198 (2) DSC02106 DSC02096

Last year, there was only one bridge. But they’ve apparently built another one to improve traffic. Personally, I think that’s a bummer because one of the thrills of crossing the bridge (especially for scaredy cats!) is when you have to meet someone in the middle of the bridge going the opposite way! It was still cool though. It was fun shaking the bridge and stuff, thank God I’m not(really) afraid of heights.

And of course, a Bohol trip is not complete without even seeing the tarsiers!

DSC02112 DSC02119

We went to the Tarsier sanctuary in Loboc River. Personally, I pity these tarsiers. They have to contend with the obnoxiousness of humans day in and out. There are still so many tourists who never read and keeps flashing their cameras very near these poor creatures. Tsk tsk tsk. They should just leave the Tarsiers, world’s smallest monkey, in their natural habitat.

DSC02123 DSC02124

And speaking of obnoxious, there’s also this little annoying monkey there that doesn’t like me. Haha.

Unfortunately, we never got to cruise the Loboc River for this trip. But we got to take photos while at the tarsier place though.

DSC02130 DSC01232

One of our last stops before heading to the hotel is to Albuquerque, Bohol where we found Prony, the largest reticulated python in the country, AND the even more exotic “Marimar”.

DSC02132 DSC01233 DSC01235 DSC01240

What is usually in everyone’s first places to visit, we made into one of our last for our first day. From the snake place, we went to one of the island’s oldest church: Baclayon

image DSC02140 DSC02147 DSC02137

I’ve been to this church many times already, but I’m still amazed at the grandeur of the place every time. I love the altar!

DSC02163 DSC01283

And oh, we made a pit stop at the Blood Compact site also in Baclayon. It was a very quick stop before we FINALLY head to the hotel.

The Hotel

We stayed at Cherry’s Home Too in Panglao. I stayed there last year with my dad and brothers.

There were 6 of us, but we got the Quadruple Room. According to the website, the room is good for 4 but really, it can fit until 8! It was very big! But but but, we were given the room 13. Superstitious much? Haha.

 DSC02463

And they also have a pool and jacuzzi (that doesn’t really work. LOL)! But yeah. I love their pool. Bryan, RB and I “chilled out” there before dinner that night, and when we were too tamad to go to the beach! :)

DSC02456

So if you’re looking an affordable place to stay at in Panglao, I’d recommend this “hotel”.

Food Trip

At the hanging bridge, I was finally able to eat GINANGANG again! I don’t know what it’s called in English – Grilled Bananas? LOL I loved it!

DSC02109

We walked the length of Alona Beach that night in search of a place to eat. We ended up at the end of the beach and had dinner at Alona Tropical.

DSC01313 DSC01312

The food was good, and they served it quickly! Wee. Not much pictures though. :)

The Beach

Panglao Beach = World Class. I love love love Panglao Beach. Our first foray to the beach during our trip was after our dinner. Still, Panglao Beach is love love love even in the dark.

DSC01328 DSC01332

We went home past midnight already, I think. But we didn’t sleep immediately. Hello Facebook and Twitter all night! Haha.

The Friends

I just have to say this… it was weird spending soooo much time with people I’m not always with for the past few years. Chic got annoyed at me because I was too bossy (as usual) ~ oops. Sorry bru! Haha. But Lady and I ~ we’re getting used to travelling together. Haha. Hello, Hong Kong! We’ve already practiced the: I-Picture-You and You-Picture-Me routine. Haha.

OMG. Friends! We really made it! :)

And oh… last!

I haven’t seen this in a long time!

DSC01247 DSC01249 DSC01250DSC01251 DSC01252

Santa Cruzan FTW! I can’t remember the last time I saw a Santa Cruzan! Ang saya! We saw this on our way to Baclayon! Nice! :)

And that ends Day 1!

okthxbye :)

Coffee Party or Comedy Show?

July 19th, 2010 § Leave a Comment

I therefore conclude that I hang out with the craziest people in the world.

I went out with my 3-Jogues family again for the second Friday in a row. The “coffee party” we planned was actually a “yogo party” at Coffee Cat, and then it turned into a “karaoke party”/comedy show! SUPER FUN FUN FUN!!!

It was mostly the same crowd as James’ party, with a couple of additions ~ hello Joy and Tricia!

I can’t believe how noisy we still were even at a very public place! So it was all but natural that we take the party to some place we can exercise our vocal chords – a karaoke bar!

So we really went all out with the singing!

Listen to us ~ errrr, them! ~ singing Justin Beiber’s Baby:

I was the night’s official videographer so yeah. You won’t be seeing much of me in the 27 videos I uploaded in my YouTube channel. TEEHEE :”>

Here’s another one of them singing Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling”.

Did I get the title right? I’m not sure! Haha.

And then here’s another video of the guys making fun of our friend Enzo:

OMG They just crack me up! “I Enzo you” “Will you Enzo me?” and so many more! Haha.

I just love how, once started, we seemed to find time to go out again and again and again. We were actually planning another night out on Saturday, but turns out I couldn’t go. BOO. But let’s see what happens in the next few weeks okay? I had the best time hanging out with the best of company!

On a parting note, say hello to some of the 3Jogues’04 alumni who went karaoke-ing last Friday! :)

okthxbye

When I Grow Up…

July 19th, 2010 § Leave a Comment

When I grow up, I want to be like two of my friends from high school. They are SOOOOOO SEXY already! They lost so much weight these past 6 years. Wish I could do the same.

Tricia wasn’t fat before, though she used to be chubby.

n649779317_1377789_6837641

Look at her now:

HOW TO LOSE WEIGHT: “Fall in love with the wrong person.” –Tricia V.

OMG I WANT HER BODY! I AM OFFICIALLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR MR. WRONG! Hahaha

Enzo was reallllllllyyyyyyyy fat back in High School!

n649779317_1377821_7139000

But right now, Enzo is soooo fit and sexxxxxxehhhh!

My gosh!!! HOW DID THEY DO IT REALLY?!?! Why can’t I do it msyelf?!?!?!

n649779317_1377791_5179142

I’ve even gotten BIGGER compared to my size 6 years ago! HUHU. I FAILLLLL.

35275_1332563999701_1399056335_30782104_7955366_n

But I am not losing hope. I CAN STILL DO THIS! Operation TELAI PAYATOT coming up soon – just as soon as I finish the chocolate I’m munching on right now. WAAAAAA.

okthxbye

P.S.

Can you actually imagine me “SLIM”??? Because for the love of me, I can’t! When people used to tell me to lose weight already, I always tell them:

“Hellowwwww. Mataba nga ako pero maganda, mabait, madiskarte, di naman ako bobo, at kung anu-ano pa. Eh pano pag pumayat ako? Ano na? PERFECT NA AKO NIYAN! Napaka-unfair naman para inyong lahat.”

So yes. Narcissism at its best. Haha.

Whistle Top

May 23rd, 2010 § Leave a Comment

There is this bar in MTS that I used to go to back in high school. Lately, my friends and I had been frequenting the place because it’s cozy and we like the cocktails.

DSC01490

May 12

After having dinner at Penong’s we decided to go to MTS for some bonding moments. We went to Blugre at first, but since there were no seats enough for 8 of us and the others had wanted to drink, we decided to head to Whistle Top for some chillax moments.

We ordered a pitcher of Orgasm. It’s like this Bailey’s and Rhum mix. NOM NOM NOM. But the most fun part is not in the drink itself, but with the cherry’s that came with the glass – or rather, the cherry stems! You know what they say about cherry stems, right? That once you’re able to tie a knot using your tongue, then you’re a very good kisser! It was so fun because when one of us suddenly gets quiet, you know he or she is trying their hand at tying it! No one seemed to succeed that night though. LOL

DSC01489
DSC01494 DSC01485DSC01492 DSC01493

But we had a few worse-than-Cinderella people that night. Cams, Telaw, Rey and Lady had to leave by 10PM. After they left, Bryan, Nigel, Mae and I moved to a smaller booth and had more drinks. I ordered another cocktail: Coitus (I loved!) while they had soda and some pica-pica. After a while, we decided to walk around the park and have a little bonding moment before heading home. Weee. Good times!

May 19

Earlier that week, RB and I decided to watch a movie. We both wanted to watch “Here Comes The Bride” but Omay said she wouldn’t be able to join us til the weekend, and Frank wouldn’t be back til Wednesday. We made plans to watch Last Song on Wednesday so Omay will be around for the funny movie, but as usual our plans didn’t go according to plan! While we were having dinner at Yellow Cab that evening (their double baked potatoes were TDF!!! just saying), we decided to text Omay and tell her to just watch HCTB that night. Lucky for us she was out with her family that night and they’ll be heading for SM after dinner so yeah. Movie night Wednesday! We loved the movie! It was super funny! The photo above was taken using self-timer in the middle of the mall. Thank you cotton candy stall for the patungan ng camera!

Bryan joined us after the movie. We brought Omay home and then we headed back to Whistle Top again for some cocktails.

DSC01564 DSC01595DSC01616 DSC01614 DSC01607

It was the first time I tried Mai Tai. Lady had the B-52 and it was smokin’! And that’s Frank having an orgasm in the second row, middle photo. LOL

We wanted to go back there while Frank, Lady and I were out on Wednesday, but Bryan took us somewhere more memorable. LOL.

okthxbye :)

Friends and Shopping

February 22nd, 2010 § 1 Comment

How lucky am I to have the most fabulous friends in the world?

image

Today, I found myself having lunch at Lachi’s with my friend Mika. (Obligatory food shot above!) We didn’t have to look at the menu because we knew what we wanted: Unforgettable Spare Ribs and Sans Rival for her, and Laing Pasta and Bittersweet Overload for me. The Sola Raspberry Iced Tea I had was a bonus! OM NOM NOM NOM.

After work, the both of us went around the city to look for the best bargains. She’s definitely my best shopping buddy ever! We didn’t buy a lot of stuff but we both did buy the last 2 Maybelline BB Cream available at SM Dept Store this evening!

22022010Pepe (that’s what I fondly call her) and I found these super cute Harry Potter-ish glasses

I love love love her! Check out her site TECHISH GADGETS. She sells some of the cheapest gadgets in Davao City! Great service too – and I’m saying that not only because we’re friends, IT’S TRUE!

okthxbye :)

P.S.

Check out Pepe’s outfit today at my new blog, Dress Playground.
