Kusina Selera

Discovered this cozy restaurant in the middle of the city (thanks to my boss’ recommendation!). We really loved the ambiance and design of the place.

Kusina Selera is located in Legaspi Compound in Pelayo St. I thought they serve European food or something because of the name. To our ears, Selera sounded foreign.
For starters, we had the Suha Salad. It was uniquely Davao because of the Pomelo Ingredients. It was like atsara, but with Pomelo, tomatoes, and peanuts. Mmmm!

For our entree, we had the Double Cooked Pork-Chicken Adobo and Kare Kare. They served our adobo with salted egg! Another first for us. It tasted Terriyaki-ish and it was yum!

The Kare-Kare was super delicious! It had to be the highlight of the meal!

For desserts, JB ordered the Mango Float which was uniquely served in a big shot glass. He said it was too “strong” for his taste. Lady said they seemed to have put Mango Puree in the dessert.

I had the Leche Flan with Macapuno (or something) on top. I liked it because it was “buo”. It wasn’t too sweet, but the Macapuno was.

For drinks, Frank had the Watermelon Shake and I had the House Blend Iced Tea. Forgot to ask Frank his opinion of his drink, but I found mine bland.
We thought we wouldn’t pay much, but we ended up paying close to a thousand bucks. HAHA. Talk about surprise! It was kind of affordable though especially taking into consideration the place and the service.
