TGIF

Last Friday, I found myself finishing up work in GMall. I had a late lunch in Pizza Hut. I was going to order pizza but last minute, I changed my mind and had their pasta and salad combo instead.
In the middle of my lunch, I realized that I should’ve just ordered salad since the Carbonara was too heavy for me. I was also thinking about getting the Anglio Olio (or whatever it’s called) but I no, I had to get the heaviest pasta in the house.
As usual, I did a little cam whoring here and there and ended up taking a full body shot of my outfit last Friday. For more of my last-minute-put-together outfits, click HERE.

Party Crasher

I party crashed last Thursday at the Super! Stores’ Trade Congress in Annisabel Suites. Thanks for the free dinner Super! Store Team! I stayed until the awarding was finished!
The food they had was catered by Mamu’s. It’s a pretty fine dining restaurant located along Dizon St. (formerly Bacaca Road). The food was delicious! The selection were pretty ordinary (Kawali, Chopsuey, Fish, Fruit Salad, etc) but it was good!
I was quite intrigued by the place because it was so posh. The restaurant and the hotel rooms reeked of class. Super nice! I wish to have a proper meal there one of these days. Their food ranges from Php200 to Php400 on ordinary entrees.
Coffee For Peace
November 29th, 2009 § Leave a Comment
I had a late lunch the other day and instead of frequenting the local mall chains, I opted to eat at this coffee shop near NCCC Mall. I’ve always been curious about Coffee For Peace ever since I found out that they serve coffee that came from a cat’s poop. That kind of this has become very interesting since I’ve seen the movie, The Bucket List.
The coffee shop has been there for at least a year, and it was my first time to visit the place.
It’s actually pretty cozy inside. Though I found the place a bit too small and confining, the ambiance was pretty nice. However, if the room is full packed, people are definitely going to hear the conversation from the other table, even if they’re whispering to one another.
I had their Tomato Penne pasta for lunch. It was good and the serving as big! But I since I am no pasta connoisseur, I’d leave it to you to try them out for yourselves. That was actually the only thing I ordered. I was tempted to order coffee but I didn’t. I’m going back there one of these days and get my coffee fix!
Photo Flooding

Because I missed out on uploading photos these past couple of weeks since I lost my USB connector, I am going to flood this entry with random photos!
Frank with the Peach Iced Tea (Php50) he tried but didn’t like.
This was taken when we watch “The Echo” and “Julie and Julia” early this month.

This was my Red Ribbon (NCCC Mall) lunch with Louie a while back. I loved their ‘stuffed’ chicken (I forgot what it’s called)! I also liked Louie’s order of Beef Steak of some sorts. The Dulce de Leche cake was good but I still prefer Lachi’s, and their Smores are amazing! Not bad for less than Php200!

After work one afternoon, I went to meet Lady at Tata Benito’s in Legaspi Compound. I shared with Lady the club house sandwich she bought. On our way to Gaisano South for some window shopping while Lady’s parents were at the coffee shop, I took a photo of part of Kusina Selera’s facade. And afterwards, Lady and I decided to meet up with DJ Zhaun at Basti’s Brew. Too bad I wasn’t able to take more decent photos. HAHA

Two weeks ago, I got a haircut and neater eyebrows! My liking of my new haircut didn’t last until the next day though. Hmm. I should really invest in a hair dryer now. And anyway, it was the first time that I got my eyebrows threaded. Thankfully, I already have neat brows so the change wasn’t so drastic – it was PAINFUL though. Beauty has a price, indeed.
Presenting my new addiction: Kangaroo’s Chai Tea Latte. ‘nuff siad.
They put up a blue Christmas Tree at the agency office a while bag. So ‘cute’. HAHA
More dressing room drama.
Didn’t get this top though since my belly protrudes too much in it. FATTIES FTW!

I kinda like the place. I’m going there for my haircut next month.

My sister and I at GMall. There’s this ice cream stall in the 3rd floor that serves soft ice cream in these big Belgian waffle cones for only Php19! Cheap thrills!

Dressing Up
November 24th, 2009 § Leave a Comment
It had been a cold weekend and since I have new boots, I decided they were perfect for the weather as they cover up majority of my (literally) cold feet. But my gosh! My wardrobe is pretty limited so I had a hard time dressing around my booties.
I first wore them on Friday. I wasn’t able to take a photo of me then but I wore a Black Polo Shirt over my Gray Skinny Jeans. To accessorize, I wore colorful dangling earrings, and then brought 2 bags (1 blue bag for my stuff, and 1 black one for my laptop). They were teasing me at the office when I arrived running in heels (I was running because it was raining and I didn’t want to bother with my umbrella after getting off the cab).
The next day, I wore the boots again this time in an all black ensemble. While I was just mostly seated on Friday (so my feet didn’t hurt that much), I was all over the place on Saturday, and I didn’t get home until almost 3 in the morning. Oh my poor poor SOLES!
So what I wore: Black Maldita Oversized Tunic, Black Leggings, Guru Oxford Booties, and Blue Bag from Melons and Lemons.
Dressing room madness: I went window shopping after work on Saturday since I was waiting for some college friends for our New Moon movie date that evening. Cam Whore much?
So what did you think of my outfit? I know it’s not really clear and all since I only used my 2MP camera phone, but you get the picture right? Should I go on dressing like this or should I just ditch the concept entirely? And oh, what did you think of the booties when worn?
Last Night

Warning: This post may contain a lot of giggly girl stuffs that may make you gag. I do not promise to make sense.
NEW MOON
Last night, I went out to watch New Moon with a few of my friends from college (Louie, Nikki, Dan, Joel, and Piyoks). All I can say is: Team Jacob’s Abs all the way! LOL. I’m not really a big fan (though I still couldn’t stop getting kilig over the book – not the movie, eeew at RPatz) though I’ve read the series at least twice. I know, I know, blame the hopeless romantic in me. I mean, if you disregard the literary quality (or lack thereof) and the ugly personality of the book’s characters (Bella’s Obsessive Cullen Disorder, etc), the plot is actually quite nice and romantic and would definitely appeal to the fresh and idealistic nature of teeners and teeners-ish everywhere. I guess Stephenie Mayer really did appeal to the little girl within us. Who didn’t want a man who’s head-over-heels in love with us right? And with super powers to boot! Though I don’t really get how everyone’s dream man (Edward) is a dead man! In the book, I’m team Edward – but moviewise, JACOB IS ONE HOT DOG! I’d pick his 8-pack abs any day over Edward’s glitters! HAHA. Ok, I’ve been digressing long enough. Actually, the point of this paragraph is supposed to be how better the movie is compared to the book. I swear I almost gave up on the Saga when I read New Moon back in October last year! Talk about B-O-R-I-N-G!!! Bella was just waaaay stupid in the book – not that she isn’t in the movie. And speaking of Bella, I never liked Kristen Stewart’s acting in Twilight. Always, she’d look high on me. However I noticed in New Moon that if she isn’t in a scene with RPatz a.k.a. The Vampire Who Glitters, she acts decently. But when Edward comes into the picture, she reverts back to acting like the coke-junkie that she is. But seriously, I honestly believe that the point in watching New Moon is to see and drool over Taylor Lautner’s abs! And I must say he (or his abs, if you may) definitely did not disappoint! YUMMY! ‘nuff said.
AND THE OTHER STUFFS
After the movie, we decided to hang out for a while before heading home. We met with a former classmate, May, and she brought with her her boyfriend, Amir and the boyfriend’s cousin, Paulo. I can’t believe she tried to set me up with the “kekz from the States” HAHA. Can’t she tell I’m all talk and no action?! I’ve never been one for the dating scene, I swear I wouldn’t know the first thing to do! It was so funny coz the rest of our friends are super teasing me about it and my ears were hot half of the night! I tried to use my super (talking) powers on him though but errr I realize that I have a problem with guys who try to act cool just because they are in a less developed country. BITTER. LOL. Around 1am, we moved the party to Torres and the boys left (me) to play NBA while we were busy shaking our booties on the dance floor. And shake we did! – especially the cousin. He tried dancing with me and oh my! I was scandalized! HAHA. I swear I am such a baby! HAHAHAHA. And speaking of babies, he is still that himself so thanks but no thanks. He tried dancing with the other girls, a couple of which I know from school, and I LOLed at everyone’s reaction. WEERRQQ! The boys had a curfew though and they had to leave before us. The other boys were still busy playing NBA so after getting my coffee fix for the night (I brought the car so I had to stay awake), May and I rode the tricycle in the middle of a super cold night sans jacket and holding icy drinks. The A/C was definitely in full blast last night – we were practically shivering from cold when we got to Dan’s house (where the boys were). I’m sorry to their helper coz we were making such a racket outside since the boys couldn’t hear us from Dan’s room. Imagine that! Four grown men playing with balls inside Dan’s room, hmmm I believe that would make a pretty interesting SPO story had the whole college gang been around! Dan dropped us off back to Pelayo around 2:30am so we could go to our respective cars and go home. I swear my mom was making such a racket over the phone and telling me my curfew is at 12am, I mean what am I? In college still? I guess that’s one of the reasons why I want to get my own place. I digress.
THE FINALE
So yesterday I went to work in my new booties. Half of my work involves going to the mall and that’s exactly what I did – to the suffering of my poor poor soles. I was on my feet most of the day, and I couldn’t say I was comfortable. By the time I was waiting for my friends to watch GMall’s Last Full Showing of New Moon, I could honestly cry my eyes out from the pain. But as the saying goes: “Beauty has a price.” And indeed it does! You see, I wanted to channel the fall look they usually have in 4-seasoned countries since we had such a lovely cold weather yesterday. I paired my booties with black leggings and black oversized button-down tunic. I just need a trench coat and some scarf and I’m sure I was going to be too dressed up for a tropical country, even during monsoon season (or whatever climate we’re having). But since I’ve been too comfortable wearing flats ALL THE TIME since I started working, I paid a really high price for looking like I had yesterday (sales lady much?), and unfortunately, 20 hours after (now!) I’m still paying for it! But who cares, right? I saw this lady in SM yesterday – we had the same idea about our outfits, tunic top, legging and heels – and I felt envious of her open toed snakeskin with chunky heels and platforms! I swear I am going to buy more high heeled shoes (and wedges!) when I get my next salary – and after I do the rest of my Christmas Shopping! So yeah, achy feet be damned! NO PAIN, NO GAIN RIGHT?
Kangaroo
November 19th, 2009 § Leave a Comment
I’ve been to Kangaroo twice this week already, and twice the other week as well!
I’ve been completely addicted with their Chai Tea Latte! It’s crazy! It’s not coffee or anything, it’s mostly just steamed milk and I love it!
Since I am a sucker for the same things, I’ve order that and Bananarama every time I visit. I only get to taste other stuffs when I go there with friends and they order something different.
Lady had their Durian Coffee (or something). I think it tasted funky.
I was never a fan of other Durian stuffs aside from the fresh fruit and the candies. LOL
The smiling coffee! I don’t know what this is but Lady’s dad ordered this when we were there last week.
Lady also had their Nachos. It was ok.
Nachos were commercial and the Salsa was ok, I guess.
These photos were taken last Thursday, November 12. I was with Lady and her mom. Her dad was there as well but I forgot to take a photo!
This was Friday night with RB, Omay and Frank. We met there before going to Pepper and Peppers for Dinner.
Tuesday, I was with Louie, Nikki and Dan. I tried their Kanganuggets for the first time, thanks to Dan. It was yummy but quite expensive.
And yesterday, I was there for lunch, by myself.
I’m planning to go back there soon!
Kangaroo Coffee Co. is located along Tionko St. corner V. Mapa, near Banko Sentral and Ranchero’s Grill.
Surprise Visit!

Guess who we saw this evening???
After work, Louie and I decided to go to SM to meet up with the Senoy family. And finally, FINALLY, after more than 20 days, we finally met Baby Tasha! She is toooo cute! But she cried when I carried her! I thought that maybe my beauty scared her but according to Princess, she was just hungry! Hmmm. She must not get my appetite! LOL. She’s big for a less-than-a-month old baby! Adorable!
Rebuelta Family in the making? Hmmm… Who knows? *wink wink*
P.S. We had a little pictorial in the middle of SM’s baby section. HAHAHA.
Siggi’s Grill and Restaurant
November 17th, 2009 § Leave a Comment
Thanks to the help of some local bloggers, I’ve finally braved going to Siggi’s Grill and Restaurant for lunch this afternoon.
It was crazy all day, with the pouring rain and all! I had to finish my pending work in the morning and afterwards, I had to go meet Lady before she goes to the airport. I then waited for about 20minutes for Louie, and then we had lunch at around 2 already! I was starving!
The Food
The food was ok. It was good but not great. I ordered the Siggy’s Pork Belly Grill or something like that. It was for Php180. And since I am on a No-Rice diet, I had mashed potatoes instead of their super garlic-y rice. And I paid Php30 more for it. It was just any other liempo but it was crispy and super oily. The mashed potato was good but the gravy was bitin.
Louie had their Chicken in a Basket (served with fries) at Php140. And then he ordered extra garlic rice for Php30. The chicken was ok. Tasted like ordinary home cooked chicken. Nothing special about it. Plus it was cooked too much, in my opinion. And the fries were blah – the commercial ones that they sell in SM Supermarket, etc.
The servings were big though. They’re normally good for two people, but since we were starving, we devoured our meals in haste. LOL.
The Service
The service sucked, except for the guard! Our waitress doesn’t know the contents of the menu. She needs to be trained more! The others were also pretty useless, no one bothered to answer our question about how much time do we have to wait before our food is served.
The guard saved their service rating because he was very helpful. He assisted us with an umbrella going in and out of the car under the rain.
The Judgement
Over all, the place had a nice feel to it. It looks cozy and inviting, and the space looks big because of the big mirror at the side and the white and blue interior. I like the design. But so far, as for the food and service, there’s nothing to rave about.
